Our Curriculum

At The Apple Tree Academy, we’re passionate about creating a learning environment where little ones can grow, discover, and thrive. Our curriculum is designed to nurture every aspect of a child’s development through fun, engaging, and meaningful activities. With a focus on building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and fostering a love for learning, we aim to give each child the best possible start to their educational journey.

  • As an early childhood learning center, we are following the six ELDAS (Early developmental areas set out by the National Curriculum Framework), for ages 0 – 5 years. (GR RR), which is required by the Department of Basic Education combined with the Curiosity Approach which originates from Reggio Emelia.
  • Our learning areas are implemented in our weekly planned themes, and ongoing assessment takes place during each theme.
  • Assessment areas: E1- Well Being, E2-Identity & Belonging, E3-Communication, E4- Mathematics, E5-Creativity, E6- Knowledge & Understanding of the world.
  • A termly report card will be issued at the end of each term. (four times a year).

Extra Murals

At The Apple Tree Academy, our days are filled with exciting learning experiences and joyful activities. We follow a carefully structured curriculum designed to support every stage of your child’s early development. Alongside our educational program, we offer a range of fun and enriching extra-curricular activities that nurture creativity, physical development, and emotional intelligence.

  • Tumbling Tigerz
  • Tumbling Tigerz is a specialized child development program which is focused on gross motor skills and physical fitness. The program includes functional exercises to help children improve their muscular development, confidence, coordination, balance and listening skills. This includes elements incorporated from boxing, pilates, gymnastics and ball skills.
  • EQ4 Kids
  • The program aims to help children recognise emotions in the self and in others. They learn the cause and effect of emotions and learn how to express emotions in a socially appropriate way.
  • A Plus Students
  • A plus students is about developing both the left and right brain. The program enhances critical skills like concentration, creativity, problem solving, comprehension, and the ability to listen and pay attention. These activities are presented in a visual and hands on interactive way.

In 2026, our school will be I introducing our Gr R class, where we will facilitate our continual curriculum, during the transition from ELDS framework to the CAPS curriculum.
